General questions
What does My Spot do?
My Spot helps small businesses and entrepreneurs show up online with confidence through custom websites, reliable hosting and maintenance, graphics and branding, and digital marketing.
Who is My Spot a good fit for?
We work with everyone from solo freelancers to mid-sized businesses who want a professional online presence but don’t have the time or desire to manage all the tech and design details themselves.
I’m not “techy” at all. Can you still help me?
Absolutely. We explain things in plain language, guide you step-by-step, and handle the technical setup so you can focus on your business while we take care of your digital presence.
How do we get started?
Start by exploring the services on myspot.design, then book a consultation so we can talk through your goals, budget, and timeline and outline a custom plan for your project.
Websites
What platform do you build websites on?
We build professional WordPress websites tailored to your brand, including core pages, forms, and optional blog or simple e‑commerce functionality depending on the package you choose.
What’s included in a new website build?
A typical new build includes dashboard setup, a custom home page, contact page, basic contact form, and basic blog setup as needed, with plugin licenses covered during the build.
How much does a website cost?
New sites start around $1,200 for a standard build, with e‑commerce sites starting around $2,000, and costs adjust based on the number of pages, features, and custom functionality you need.
Can you refresh an existing website instead of starting from scratch?
Yes. We offer existing site refresh packages that update your dashboard, home page, contact page, and basic forms so your site looks current and functions smoothly without a full rebuild.
What if I need more than the basic pages?
You can add extra pages, forms, events, and custom post types, as well as additional blog posts or products, and we’ll quote those as add-ons based on the amount of content and complexity.
Do you design e‑commerce sites?
Yes. We offer e‑commerce builds that include standard store pages, basic product setup, and core functionality, with options to add more products or advanced features as your shop grows.
How long does it take to launch a website?
Timelines depend on content readiness and project size, but once we have your content, branding, and approvals, we’ll set a realistic launch window and keep you updated throughout the process.
Maintenance and hosting
Do I have to host my website with you?
No. If you already have a host you love, we can often work with your existing provider, or you can choose to move to My Spot’s hosting for a more streamlined, managed experience.
What’s the benefit of hosting with My Spot?
Our hosting runs on a private server for only My Spot clients, eliminating risks from bad actors or shared resources; it includes reliable performance, security options, and requires a maintenance plan so you know all sites on the server have up-to-date plugins and installs that help prevent security vulnerabilities.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes. We offer tiered maintenance plans with monthly time for updates, content edits, and technical care, so you don’t have to worry about plugin updates or small changes piling up.
Do I really need ongoing website maintenance?
Yes, because platforms, plugins, and security standards change constantly. Maintenance helps prevent downtime, keep things secure, and ensures your content stays accurate and fast. Don't get stuck in the 'set it and forget it' mindset.
What happens if I don’t choose a maintenance plan?
Your site will still function, but you’ll be responsible for keeping plugins, themes, and content updated, and you may need to purchase your own plugin licenses for future updates. A la carte updates are available at $150/hour for occasional needs.
Can you help with security and speed?
When you host with us, we can add services like malware protection and a CDN to improve security and performance, helping your site stay safer and load faster for your visitors.
Branding and graphic design
Do you offer logo design?
Yes. We create custom logos with multiple concepts, revisions, and final files in formats you can use across your website, social media, and print materials.
What is a Brand Guide and why would I need one?
A Brand Guide is a concise document that outlines your mission, visuals, colors, fonts, and overall personality so your brand looks and sounds consistent everywhere it shows up.
What’s included in your Brand Guide service?
Our Brand Guide includes your brand story, positioning, audience, logo usage, color palette with codes, typography, imagery style, and key visual elements, delivered as a PDF and optional website page.
Can you create graphics for social media or print?
Yes. We design everything from social media graphics and ads to business cards and flyers, and we can also help with photo editing and manipulation to keep your visuals on-brand.
Do you manage social media accounts?
We offer social media marketing through a trusted expert contractor, combining strategy, content creation, and design so your brand shows up consistently and effectively online.
What does your social media support include?
We collaborate on goals and messaging, then handle content planning, branded graphics, and posting support so you can stay visible without social media taking over your calendar.
Can I work with you only for social media without a website project?
Yes. While many clients bundle services, you can also engage us specifically for social media strategy and design, and we’ll tailor a plan around your current needs.
Paid media marketing
What is your paid media marketing service?
Our paid media marketing runs targeted ads across platforms like Google, Facebook, and Instagram to drive leads, bookings, and sales while optimizing your budget for the best ROI.
How does paid media fit with your other services?
It pairs perfectly with websites, social media, and branding—we use your site and graphics as ad landing pages to create seamless campaigns that convert visitors into customers.
What’s included in a paid media campaign?
Campaigns include ad strategy, creative design (graphics or short videos), platform setup, targeting based on your audience, A/B testing, and monthly performance reports with optimizations.
How much does paid media cost?
Pricing is custom based on your goals, platforms, and ad spend (you provide the budget, we manage the setup and optimization), with a typical management fee starting around $1,800/month plus your ad budget.
Do I need a website or social presence before starting paid ads?
Ideally yes—a professional website and active social profiles help ads perform better, but we can start with basic landing pages or lead forms if you’re building those out with us.
How do you measure success for paid media?
We track key metrics like clicks, conversions, cost per lead, and ROI through platform analytics and Google Analytics, sharing clear monthly reports so you see exactly what’s working.
Process
How does your process work from first contact to launch?
After you reach out or book a consult, we’ll talk through your goals, send an onboarding form to gather details, create a proposal with scope and pricing, then move into design, development, and launch.
What do you need from me to get started on a website?
We’ll ask for your business basics, brand assets (logo, colors, fonts), any existing content or photos, examples of sites you like, and clarity on the pages and functionality you need—if you don’t have these yet, we can help with logo design, brand guides, photo editing, or videography services.
What if I don’t see the exact service I need listed?
That’s okay. We regularly customize solutions and also have a network of trusted partners, so if it’s not something we do in-house, we’ll either add it to your package or refer you to someone who can help.
Do I have to write all of my website copy?
You’re welcome to provide your own copy, or we can use AI to generate and refine it based on your onboarding answers so it fits your brand voice and resonates with your audience. For ongoing copywriting like blogs or topic-specific content, we can bring in a copywriter for a fee.
Can you help me organize what pages I actually need?
Yes. If you’re unsure, we’ll recommend a practical site structure during your consultation based on your goals, offers, and how your audience prefers to find information.
What if my branding isn’t ready yet?
If you don’t already have a clear logo, colors, or fonts, we can start with logo design and a Brand Guide so your website and graphics are built on a solid, consistent visual foundation.
Pricing and logistics
How are your prices set?
We list typical starting points for each service, then adjust based on the size, complexity, and timeline of your project so your quote reflects the actual work involved.
Do you offer payment plans?
For many projects, we can split payments into milestones (such as deposit, design approval, and pre-launch) to make the investment more manageable for small businesses.
How do you communicate during a project?
We use your preferred communication methods from the onboarding form—usually a mix of email, calls, and shared documents—to keep you updated without overwhelming your schedule.
I’m local to the Phoenix/Chandler area. Can we meet in person?
When possible, we’re happy to explore local options or video calls; most projects run smoothly virtually, but we understand some conversations are easier face-to-face.
